My journey with Enterprise Business Support started almost three years ago now. I had been searching the national apprenticeships website daily for roles that would suit my skill set with little joy until I came across an advertisement for a phone team agent with Enterprise. They were not only offering a new and exciting career but also the opportunity to work towards an NVQ at the same time. After two successful interviews it was my first day and training began. How time has flown!
EBS is comprised of a number of different departments that support Enterprise with their daily rental operations. They offer ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions where you can gain a better insight into what the other teams do during your lunch break. One of the sessions I attended was for the Damage Recovery Department. The role sounded exciting and the department already interested me from the dealings I’d had with them while on the phone team. The ease of being able to change my career path but stay with the same company really appealed to me; I only had to go down one floor! I completed a job shadow and was helped with interview preparation by our recruiter and the next minute I was being offered the job!
I have been a Recovery Specialist for the past two years now. I am part of the Fleet Team who are the main damage contacts for some of the largest Enterprise customers. I have developed a great track record of meeting collections targets and building relationships with external stakeholders. I have completed Level 2 and 3 Business Administration and am now on my 3rd NVQ, Level 3 in Management. I was also fortunate enough to be successful in my application to our Leadership Development Programme and am six months into my training. I am learning all the key skills I will need in a leadership role as well as gaining a better understanding of other key departments in our business. I could not be better equipped for a future management role with the endless development on offer. As to where I will look to progress next I could not possibly tell you as the opportunities are never-ending. One thing I do know is I’m unlikely to have to go far.
