What a month it has been at Enterprise Rent-A-Car! First of all we won Graduate Employer of the Year, due to the fantastic hard work of the talent acquisition and training and development teams. We are officially a very attractive employer with a superb training scheme full of diversity and progression.
This year I have had the pleasure of being a Campus Brand Manager for the Graduate Employer of the Year at the University of Kent. My job is to recruit the brightest and best students through events such as careers fairs and on-campus interviews. I wear my Campus Brand Manager hoodie and t-shirt with pride, in order to attract the attention of potential candidates. There is no better place to attract them than Enactus!
For those who may not be familiar with Enactus, it is an amazing, non-profit organisation that encompasses 59 universities, 2800 students and 58,400 people in the UK alone. Each university presents projects developed over the previous 12 months at a regional competition and then at a national competition. These projects offer innovative solutions to some of society’s most challenging issues, while connecting students and business leaders.
I had the pleasure of attending the 2016 Enactus final along with members of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car UK Talent Acquisition team. The winner of this year’s national competition was Nottingham who will be going to Toronto for the 2016 World Cup. In 2017, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is sponsoring the World Cup in London!
As a University of Kent student I was lucky enough to support my team twice during the Enactus competition. I was able to give feedback at the regional round on presentations, and then at a national level where I represented Enterprise Rent-A-Car as one of the key sponsors. I was really proud of the Kent team as they made it to the semi-finals and won the Ford C3 Building Sustainable Communities award.
At the national competition I took part in the large careers fair, with over 750 students. This was a chance for Enterprise Rent-A-Car to promote our brand and attract some of the best talent to join our management trainee programme. As Graduate Employer of the Year, we wanted to create a fun and friendly atmosphere, which we did by challenging the students to a basketball competition. This caused an amazing buzz and acted as a starting point for us to talk to them about Enterprise and the opportunities we offer.
Looking back at my experience, I’ve noted the top ten reasons to join your Enactus team:
