From Summer Internship to 10 Promotions in 8 Years

Since returning to Enterprise Mobility full-time after graduating in 2016, Jess has enjoyed a remarkable career, achieving ten promotions in just eight years across four different business lines. Her journey with Enterprise Mobility began in 2015 as a summer intern, a role she never imagined would lead to managing a fleet of 1,200 HGVs and vans and relocating across the UK so early in her management career.

Jess quickly adapted to different roles and environments, moving across locations and seizing new opportunities. "As I gained confidence, I embraced uncertainties and pursued growth opportunities. The worst someone can say is no, but you’ll never know unless you try. Each experience helps you grow, so whether it’s a promotion or a move, seize the opportunity."

In her current role as Depot Manager, in our Flex-E-Rent business, Jess serves as a significant female role model. "Despite more male counterparts in my field, I’ve always been treated equally," she reflects. "Respect and peer support have been crucial in building my confidence and combating imposter syndrome. It’s empowered me to pursue future roles confidently, rather than waiting until I felt 'ready' early in my career, as many women do."

Jess's transition to this new division was seamless, supported by Enterprise Mobility's relocation assistance programme. "The organisation's relocation support system was invaluable, easing my transition and can do the same for others hesitant about relocating for a promotion."

She credits her success to a network of advocates and mentors. "Having internal support means there’s always help available. I’ve been fortunate to have mentors who offered advice and guidance, expanding my knowledge and skills."

Drawing from her experience, Jess now supports her team as part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, addressing issues including menopause and caregiver support.

"The mobility industry evolves constantly, and I’m eager to see where it leads," says Jess. If you're ready to advance your career, explore our internship, placement or graduate management trainee opportunities.
