After completing her studies in Arts at the National University of Galway in Ireland, Louise joined a company that was closely affiliated with Enterprise. There, she had the opportunity to learn about Enterprise’s graduate management trainee programme and their “promote-from-within” culture that prioritises the training and development of current employees, rewarding their dedication and hard work by offering them opportunities for career progression within the company. When a job opportunity came up, she applied knowing it would be a career, not just a job. After having a supportive conversation with an Enterprise recruiter, Louise applied and started her career with Enterprise in 2017 as a Graduate Management Trainee.
Within just two years of starting her career, Louise was promoted to Branch Manager at the Galway branch. Throughout her tenure in this role, Louise exemplified exceptional leadership, resulting in an impressive tally of 11 promotions for the individuals under her guidance. Fast forward to 2022 and Louise was promoted to Area Manager in Ireland and looking after a region of four branches.
Louise described the culture at Enterprise as friendly, fun and rewarding but most of all, supportive. This supportive environment helped her thrive and make significant strides within Enterprise.
Louise said “It doesn’t matter what level you are, whether a graduate management trainee or a branch manager, there is always someone to support you. Thanks to the promote-from-within culture, the support is from someone who is always knowledgeable and empathetic because they’ve experienced what you have. It makes you feel like a valuable member of the team and not just a number in the company.”
Throughout her career, she has been given the opportunity to get involved in additional activities related to diversity and philanthropy through the company’s many Employee Resource Groups. She is currently on the Wellbeing Committee which focuses on creating a company culture that is accessible and inclusive; somewhere that everyone will want to work and other companies will want to do business with.
“Mental health is less of a taboo subject now and I want to be there and support people within the company as people have done for me”
When we asked Louise what sets Enterprise apart from other employers, she said “Enterprise is like a family; the family that you choose. Everyone is rooting for you to get your next promotion. It’s not just a job but a career with a constant cheerleader squad behind you and supporting you”
