What Enterprise Rent A Car Means to Me

Puzzle pieces in a spiral shape

Enterprise Rent A Car to me is…

Enjoyment, Responsibility, Achievement and Career progression. Just a few appealing aspects I discovered while working at Enterprise.

I first came across the Enterprise Management Trainee Programme at my university career fair. I went home and mentioned it to my Dad who coincidentally knew Don Moore, one of the Vice Presidents in the UK. I sent my CV and letter of interest for the role to Don who kindly passed it to Ashley Hever, who works in Talent Acquisition for Europe, and before I knew it I was an employee referral and my first telephone interview was arranged. The whole interview and assessment day process was enjoyable because every single person I met shared a few similar traits; everyone was very welcoming, friendly and ambitious which is what Enterprise is all about.

Networking and making connections with employees from all levels within the business is very important, as I further witnessed during my time working for the company. Networking facilitates progression and there are many people that I have met whose Enterprise journey inspires me to build on my career.

I spent my internship year working at the Heathrow office and I loved it. I spent every day with a great team in a well-performing branch and I progressed quickly through the programme. After nine months, I was promoted from a Managment Trainee to a Managment Assistant. This is one of the greatest benefits of the Management Trainee Program at Enterprise, the progression opportunities and the speed at which every individual can progress is unique and extremely attractive.

Having been promoted within my internship year, I was able to go back to University knowing I had employment to go straight into after I graduated. I was able to focus on my degree and it paid off as I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Business Studies with Marketing. I returned to Enterprise in September 2014 and shortly after my return I was promoted to an Assistant Manager at the flagship branch within the UK, Heathrow Airport, quite an achievement at the age of 22.

The last few months working at the airport as an Assistant Manager have been a huge learning curve. The airport shift hours are not the most sociable, however working with a great team makes all the difference. The opportunity to lead, encourage and motivate my team members to become managers themselves has become reality and I thrive off the responsibility I have as an Assistant Manager. Every day is different at Heathrow with new challenges and situations that are all part of the learning and development process. I am already thinking of my next promotion and I look forward to developing my career with the company.

Look forward to promotion, progression and responsibility by applying for a role at Enterprise today.
